Guacamole is the perfect dip. Whether you serve it on tacos or burritos or bring a big bowl of guac and chips to a dinner party, it’s a crowd favorite every time. My favorite thing about guacamole is that it’s delicious and bright, with only a few all-natural ingredients.
My dad makes the best guacamole and his advice is always: keep it simple. Pick out the ripest avocados and tomatoes, the brightest cilantro, and the juiciest limes. After that, there’s no way to go wrong.
Guac is really a choose your own adventure dip. Want it smooth and creamy as a burrito filling? Great! Mash with a fork until all the lumps are gone and it’s light and spreadable. This version is a labor of love, but definitely worth it. Want it heartier and thick so your guacamole can be the star of the appetizer table? No problem! Mash until the ingredients are just combined and you’re ready to go.
This dip is best served immediately, but if you have to travel with it, don’t fret. Just push plastic wrap directly onto the surface of the dip to prevent browning and take it wherever you need to go. This is a recipe I come back to time and time again, and it will forever be a classic.
